The sheriff's department in Ramsey County, Minnesotta had started surveilance about one year ago on a group that was known as the Republican National Welcoming Committee. During the course of the surveilance on the group, the department collected enough evidence against the group to get a search warrent on two homes and a temporary office in St Paul.
"Yesterday, there was a group of people, not the protesters ... but a group of criminals who came here with a very express goal and intent," St. Paul Police Chief John Harrington said Tuesday. "They came here to try to stop the convention, to crash the gates, to stop the buses and the delegates. ... They failed."
According to the document that was released by the sherriffs deparment, the group has discussed kidnapping delegates, blockading bridges, using sprayers of urine and marbles to slow the police. the document also goes on to say that the main goal of the group was to "crash the Republican National Convention. When six of the group members were arrested, the investigators found a video that was labeled "Video map of the St Paul points of interest".
The main sources for the information were "regular surveillance" of the group and three people who posed as members — two informants and an undercover investigator. The informants monitored e-mails and conversations.
Other sources state that the group held 2 meetings before that attracted about 150 - 200 people to each gathering, where they discussed ways to disrupt the convention. According to the document, members of the group did role playing to practice using concrete filled tubes to block streets during the protests.
The affidavit also said that group e-mails from the Welcoming Committee talked about leaving abandoned or overturned vehicles at intersections, pulling a single officer from a police line and beating him, using liquid sprayers filled with urine or chemicals, “unarresting” techniques to free people arrested by police, obtaining fake credentials and dozens of other tactics.
The investigation came to a culmination when the sheriffs raided two Minneapolis homes and the RNC Welcoming Committees group headquarters in St Paul. In total, seven people were arrested in the investigation, while six are being held in jail and the seventh was released pending further investigation.
In addition to buckets of urine, investigators seized homemade devices used to disable buses and other vehicles, weapons, gas masks, flammable liquids and rags that could be used to make Molotov cocktails, computer storage devices, documents, pamphlets and banners. Some materials, such as banners and signs, were returned Monday for demonstrators to use during the protest marches. Albert Goins Sr., attorney for the plaintiffs, said they are likely to file an emergency appeal to get the rest of it back.

Some people on this board think it is ok as long as it is against the republicans.

Is it just me or does there seem to be a growing faction supporting the Democratic party which seems to be borrowing concepts from the IRA and PLO as well as other extremist organizations ? What is next, attempted overthrow of the Government if the election does not put the Democratic Party back in office ?
Written somewhat tongue in cheek, yet.... one does wonder.

I have been reading posts for the last few days. It seems those leaning toward obama think revolutionaries against McCain have the right to physically harm and terrorize old ladies.
It seems 'rights' are for left wingers only in their mind. Choice is only valid if you chose abortion. Some are livid that Sarah loves her child. And then they use terms like racist and homophobe to cover it up and point fingers at those in the right.
Some think their 125 to 140 IQ's puts them in an elitist class. That is way less than mine and I do not set myself above another human even if they have down syndrome.
