Anders Behring Breivik: Pretrial Detention Extended

Appearing in court, Norway killer Anders Behring Breivik, who has confessed to killing 77 people in two terror attacks this summer, said, “I am a military commander in the Norwegian resistance movement,” but Judge Torkjel Nesheim was not interested in any speeches fromt he dock. Instead, the court moved towards the business at hand: adding 12 weeks to his pretrial jail time.

No evidence has yet emerged that the "Norwegian resistance movement" even exists.

Anders Breivik's request to address survivors of his attack was also denied.

Anders Breivik is being held at Ila Prison, which is a far cry from the relative luxury of Halden Fengsel Prison, which captured worldwide media attention with its country-club features.

Currently Breivik has no access to media or mail, though some of those restrictions will be eased. His cell is bare, save for a bed, table, chair, and toilet.
