Granada, Nicaragua. Angel's hip was broken so she couldn't move. People were stepping over her like she wasn't there. Finally some Japanese vet students took her to Casa Lupita, a local animal shelter. Unfortunately, the clinic did not have the facilities to preform the kind of surgery she needed so they put this sweet, sweet dog down.

She was a very sad, very sweet pup. I will never forget her. She was a true innocent. Her hip was dangling and she was totally stranded. People were stepping over her as though she didn't even exist. Unfortunately, her troubles did not have a happy ending. She was rescued from the street but the vet had to put her down. This was in Antigua, Guatemala and he was a volunteer vet from the states helping out at Casa Lupita (a crisis shelter for street dogs). He could have saved her in the states but Casa Lupita does not have the capabilities for major surgery. Most of the dogs and cats rescued there are more fortunate. Some are even adopted by Americans who arrange for the animal to fly home with them and that is a very happy ending to a very sad beginning.
