Video Footage shows Annie the Elephant Beaten by Circus Worker

Secret video footage has hit the web, showing Annie, Britain's last circus elephant, getting beaten by a circus worker. The elephant beating video was shot by Animal Defenders International (ADI).

The footage shows the worker hitting the 57-year-old Asian elephant with a pitchfork, as well as kicking her. Anne belongs to Bobby Roberts Super Circus.

Northamptonshire police and the RSPCA are now investigating Bobby Roberts Super Circus.

'Hand Annie Over'

Owner Bobby Roberts has expressed shock at seeing the video, and said that the worker who beat Annie had left the company. ADI asked Roberts to name the worker so that he may be prosecuted, and to hand over Annie for placement in a safer environment.

I hope these men rot in a cell! What human beings do to innocent animals is really horrific and disgusting. We have so much to be ashamed of!

who still goes to circuses??? we all know that animals are not treated as they should be in these crapholes. Simple boycott the circuses, just dont go!!

This is absolutely disgusting. Hopefully these people are brought to justice, both financially as well as serving time behind bars. How could someone take enjoyment from this?
