  On Friday the GOP elected its first African American as the Notional Party Chairman. Micheal Steele, the former lieutenant governor of Maryland won the election with 91 votes. Mr. Steel who is considered a moderate received cheers and applause as the election results were announced from the GOP delegates.

  Here are a few interesting facts on Mr. Steele;

1. He was adopted as a baby.

2. His father was a limousine driver in Washington, D.C., and on occasion drove Robert F. Kennedy around town.

3. He was the first African American to hold an elected state office in Maryland.

4. He was at one time Mike Tyson's brother-in-law. His sister Monica had been married to Iron Mike.

He's still a republican and that's not cool.

First posting mistakes true, but isn't that just a little bit rude, not to send that as a private msg.

Thanks, Subculture Arts, for some additional information on Mr. Steele.

I'm sure in the coming weeks more will become known about yet another African American first for American society.
