Anti-gay advocates believe being gay is worse than terrorism?
"I think it’s that: It’s a travesty that people have forced someone who is gay to have to make their case that they deserve the same basic rights as someone else. I'll tell you this: Religion is far more of a choice than homosexuality. And the protections that we have for religion? We protect religion -- and talk about a lifestyle choice -- that is absolutely a choice. Gay people don't choose to be gay. At what age did you choose not to be gay?"
Jon Stewart, the Will Rogers of our time, is exactly right. I must also ask, is bigotry, loathing and against gays, a lifestyle choice also? Stewart also states to Mike Huckabee, "You write in your book that all people are created equal and yet for gay people you believe that it is corrosive to society to allow them to have the privileges that all humans enjoy."
Mitt Romney favors a national ban on same sex marriage, does he also favor a national ban on civil unions, if the civil unions are similiar in every other detail to heterosexual marriage? Because he has stated he is opposed to any civil unions with the full rights, benefits and status of heterosexual marriage. If this is his position, so much for his supposed principle of state control of marriage.
Utah and Tennessee both have Don't say Gay bills to ban any discussion of homosexuality in public schools, including counseling of gay students who are bullied, if homosexuality is mentioned in that counseling. After they kill themselves, can it be discussed then?
According to a Wall Street Poll, 49% of Americans support marriage equality for gays, up from 41% in only three years. When did this tipping point of support for marriage equality happen, exactly?
Lastly, a rabid opponent of marriage equality wrote this about marriage equality activists:
"In other words, the goals Trina and Janelle pursue are the spitting image of the goals of jihadi terrorists. But these activists are more loathsome than the terrorists. Why? Because they lack courage. "
The writer went on to tell people that these individuals should be spat upon. A Missouri lawmaker had written before that gays were like terrorists. It seems to be a theme on the far right-wing.
