Update: Police and special forces are under highest level of security with only 8 days to go. See latest pictures of training activity. The water around the Bird's Nest is inspected by a massive team of divers and militairs.

Furthermore all airports will be closed during Opening Ceremony.

Update: with terrorism is going to be a real serious item with an Olympic Jihad, security is up. A special divers team of the Beijing Pilice Squad inspected the Watercube on bombs and other terroristic items. Even under water ! See photos

Update: with only 15 days to go the policeteam in Beijing took the next step in the battle to prvent terroristic activity. So they received a new piece og high-tech equipment: the Sewage Robot. The robot has three videocamers on the front side and can be guided through the sewage-system of Beijing by a joystick (reach 3 kilometers). The robot starts today to inspect the 917 kilometers sewage-pipes under an around the Olympic Venues. See photos.

Update: with only 18 days to go security is speeded up in China. The police is practising but in fact they use terrorism as an excuus to pick-up chinese that are wanted for different reasons. The Chinese police is preparing for the Olympic Games. So all kind of specialized police teams are in full training. Recently the police of Beijing started a special SWAT-team foor terroristic activities.

The team received a brand new weapon in there battle on potential terrorists. The Segway should give policemen advantage in the crowdy streets of Beijing. But shooting during the use of the Segway isn't so easy.

So the tarted an extensive trainingprogramme and they are making some progress. Shooting from their Segway in standing position was really going good, but while driving need some more practice.

There are some other SWAT-teams in training in Beiijng for the Olympic Games. See new photos. In the war against terrorism the police is getting some major help from the Chinese. To stimulate people to tip the police on possible terroristic plans, attacks, sabotage or plans to kill some who is very improtant. Think of all those VIP's that are coming to the Opening Ceremoney.

So every good tip of a citizen receives at least 1000 euro (around 1500 dollars). The best tip can count on a reward of 50.000 euro (75.000 dollars approx.).
