ANZAC Day was celebrated today. Originally a commemoration to celebrate the landing of Australian and New Zealand troops on the beaches of Gallipoli in Turkey in World War I, it is now a day to remember & respect all those Australians and New Zealenders that have died in past wars.
Crowds to these services are growing in Australia, Gallipoli, and France to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We will not forget them!

This is a picture of my grandmother on my father's side (Germain Vandewattyne) third from left front - in France 1918. Her sister Vande, is second from left front.
We always referred to her as French, but in actual fact was Belgian. My English grandfather met Germain and they emigrated to Australia after the war.
