NP Rank:
Apples Not Oranges on the Menu for next Supper with Strangers (in New York)
I have not made any mention of a Restaurant Speakeasy in a while.
While writing Take the Orient Express to Flushing for Authentic Asian Cuisine, I StumbledUpon a new example of this underground take on the traditional eatery.
Going by the name of Supper with Strangers, they are all about the seasons.
Why? Because as they put it "nothing thrills us more than the arrival of spring ramps, summer strawberries, autumn apples, and winter squash, every Supper will feature seasonal local ingredients, with an "ingredient of honor" that will be featured in every dish. We won't reveal our menu until you arrive, but we will tell you what the featured ingredient will be. If you're a vegetarian or have food allergies, we’ll accommodate your dietary restrictions with at least a week's advance notice. If you're just a picky eater, well, we suggest you come to the table with an empty stomach and an open mind".
