After 129 days trying to administrate a political conflict with the rural producers, Cristina Kirchner apparently sorted things out. Although it was not based on her own interests, but on a decision from the Senate.

The problem began when the government aimed to control prices of rural products as well as restriction on imports. Obviously, this generated the ira of the producers, that where losing a good exporting opportunity.

After social and political pressure, Cristina decided to send the decision of revoguing the price controls and the export controls to the Congress. Believing that she would obtain a victory, the final vote came to be decided by the Presidente of the Senate, Julio Cobos, who is the Vice-President of Argentina, as well.

Cobos voted against Cristina, forcing the government to recognize a humiliating defeat. One day later, Cristina Kirchner announced the suspension of the actual export taxes, achieving, by force, peace with the ruralists.
