Arlen Specter To Michele Bachmann: "Act Like A Lady"
In another "heat-of-the-moment' political scramble, Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter is finding himself in hot water. Specter and Minnesota Republican Michele Bachman went face-to-face on "The Big Talker" show at WPHT 1210-AM radio station yesterday to discuss politics, but the conversation quickly got out of hand.
During the show, Bachmann was asked by Specter what she voted for. Bachmann replied at length, but would not stop talking when Specter tried to interject. Specter also called on Bachmann for interrupting him. In the end, the two just started shouting each other down. Than Specter said to Bachmann, "I am going to treat you like a lady. Now act like one." To which Bachmann replied, "Well, I am a lady."
Specter's remarks during yesterday's show have caused controversy. Some are now calling Specter a sexist for mentioning gender in a discussion about politics.
Specter will run for a re-election against Republican Pat Toomey in the 2010 Senate race.
