Cargo Plane Crash in South Korea
A cargo plane operated by Asiana Airlines has crashed off Jeju-do (Jeju Island) in South Korea early on July 28.
According to the South Korean Coast Guard, the two crewmembers aboard the plane have been killed. The Asiana Airlines cargo plane, a Boeing 744, crashed while enroute to Shanghai, China from Incheon International Airport near Seoul.
MSNBC reports the plane as Flight OZ991. The pilot had reported some sort of trouble, and the plane had turned around to head back to Incheon before crashing.
South Korea has been pounded with torrential rain since July 26, causing widespread flooding and mudslides, which have killed 36 people so far, and left hundreds homeless.
