Assasination of a Lebanese Durzi Sheikh in Lebanon

ALEYH, LEBANON Sept 10, 16:57 GMT - A Lebanese Durzi Sheikh Saleh Al-Aredi has been assasinated in Aleyh, Mount Lebanon, in Lebanon.

Saleh Al-Aredi is a member of the Druz "Lebanese Democrartic Party" headed by Mr. Talal Arsilan. He was assasinated in a car explosion.

Aleyh is a town at mount Lebanon, where the majority are Druz Lebanses.

No one claimed responsibility and it is not clear who is behind it yet.

Yesturday, a peace agreement was signed in Tripoly northen Lebaon between the sunni fundementalists and the Alawi. It was an attempt to defuze the tention in that part of Lebnon specially after sevear fighting between the two groups in the last months, where several people were killed.
