Atheists and President Obama both blamed for recent shootings

Televangelist and crazy person, Pat Robertson is blaming the shooting at the Sikh Temple, earlier this month in Oak Creek, on atheists. The shooter, Wade Michael Page, was a neo-nazi and singer in a hate metal band. There is no evidence that he was an atheist. I must note though that the KKK and other related groups, have a strong foundation in Christian fundamentalism/ dominionism, and the KKK today is interconnected with hate metal.

Robertson stated atheists who hate this god take it out on people who worship this god, in this case, the Sikhs. First of all, atheists don't hate a god. That is absurd claptrap pushed by people like Robertson. You can't hate something you don't believe in. Robertson doesn't hate Thor or Zeus or Odin, and I, nor other atheists, don't hate a god.

But Robertson, who has blamed natural disasters on atheists, gays, feminists and who knows what else, is not crazy enough to say that the shootings in Oak Creek, Colorado and other places were a conspiracy by President Obama to get stronger gun laws. No, that takes Megadeth singer Dave Mustaine. Megadeath is not hate metal. I like some metal music so I don't want to leave the impression I am picking on metal. But, Mustaine is a nut if he believes that Obama was in a conspiracy with these shooters in order to pass gun laws.

Robertson and Mustaine have the right to preach and state nutty and idiotic statements, but they should be recognized for the nutjobs that they are in fact.

Correction: I must note though that the KKK and other related groups, have a strong foundation in the Democratic Party going back to the founding of the Party.

Sigh. Wonderful analysis, for a 10 year old. Too bad you haven't thought deeper about this than at a grade school level. The Democratic party of the South was controlled by Christian fundamentalists. Christian fundamentalists who after the Johnson Adminstration opposed segreation and passed civil rights laws, fled in droves to the Republican party.

The Senate version, voted on by the House: D63%/R-80%

DEMOCRATS don't own the civil rights issue retread. It's REPUBLICAN by a majority. Better get something better than your public grade school education if you ever want to be on the right side of anything. Period!

You idiot, the parties switches in the South but the basic political ideology and beliefs only changed to a lesser extent. In other words, the South is still controlled by Christian fundamentalists but they switched parties and they aren't as racist as their grandfathers. The same Christians fundamentalists who vote Republican now, had grandfathers who voted Democratic. You really think they changed that much in belief?

If the Obama presidency has proven anything to the American people it has been that TRUTH. YOU nor the DEMOCRATS are any different than when your fore-fathers institutionalized slavery and the Jim Crow Laws. Christian Fundamentalists make up about 30% of the U.S. and 60 years ago, an overwhelmingly majority in the bible belt. They controlled the South and still do! Read a damn history book and learn something above a third grade level.

Being Christian in this country is the norm. ~80% of the total population. Christian fundamentalist don't come anywhere near 30% of the US population. Not even 30% of the Protestant Christian population. The PEW Report on Religion and public life puts the Protestant Evangelical at 26% of the Protestant population. Not the total Christian population which is much larger. 25% of the US population is Catholic. Not only are Evangelicals a minority among their own, all Evangelicals are not Biblical fundamentalists either. You need to pursue factual data not spew socialist atheistically driven hate mongering.

With the influx of Muslims and Latinos the US is going to become more conservative vis a vie religious social values. As a God hating anti-conservative champion of pornography you are on the short list of a small minority looking in on a world you do not control. Atheist rate at approx. 1.5% of the total population.
