Attacking CEO experience is a dumb move
Rick Santorum has no CEO experience. He’s a lifer politician.
Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman have two kinds of CEO experience: 1) Governor of State Government Enterprise, and 2) Chief Executive of private enterprise.
In Romney’s case, Bain Capital, he was a turnaround specialist. Some people have tried to make a bad thing about that experience, Republicans and Democrats. Those skills are especially transferable to improving government enterprise. Santorum is a critic and that is because he is not qualified for President because he lacks both kinds of CEO experience.
Since President Obama also lacked CEO experience before being elected, Republicans could use Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman experience as a strategic difference. Being so stupid as to criticize this demonstrates how irrational Republicans have become.
Jon Huntsman’s CEO experience in the private sector is managing the trust that holds the wealth that his father created. Huntsman exploited this wealth and power to become an ambassador and to accomplish some noble purposes. He’s a wealthy fellow with a nice family trying to do good things – so is Romney.
Now, President Obama has gained CEO experience from his one term. He has demonstrated Commander in Chief abilities. He has yet to demonstrate essential leadership skills to pull along recalcitrant Republicans. He has intellectual power, though still lacks essential knowledge about the economy and job creation. An effective CEO would get some help.
In part, Obama has had some trouble staffing with barriers created by Republicans. However, a large part of Obama’s problem is staffing and aligning with people in the private sector who can help him and the nation recover.
That should be the focus of the 2012 election. Who can perform better at engaging American power and talent to renew the economy?

Rick Santorum: " "I know one of my opponents who has now directed his attention to me, surprisingly, has said that he has executive experience," Santorum, an ex-senator from Pennsylvania, said of the former Massachusetts governor. "We are not looking for a chief executive officer for this country. We are looking for a commander in chief."
