Ayatollah Pwns #Iranelection: 'I am Following You All On Twitter'
The Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei declared a "definitive victory" for President Ahmadinejad on his June 19 speech to the Iranian populace and the rest of the world. The coordinated attempts to overturn the Iranian rigged election through social networking sites, such as Twitter and Facebook, have been met by suppression by Iranian officials - the attempts have been futile. Khamenei and other government officials have now decided to fight fire with fire. Khamenei and Ahmadinejad have stormed web 2.0, kicking ass and taking names.
Allah be praised! Look out, Ayatollah coming through! Today's sermon is gonna be "off the hizzie"
Ahmadinejad 17 years Ayatollah's junior has made a much larger splash into the social networking scene with 608 followers to Khomeini’s 3. Ever the eternal optimist Khamenei has not given up and has been adding as many followers as possible for his upcoming speech.
In a nationally televised speech in Iran today, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei ordered his countrymen not to stage further protests, warning the nation, "I am following you all on Twitter."
Other foreign leaders have taken surprise at the attacks by the Ayatollah. After the speech Angel Merkel, the German Chancellor, made a statement impressing her dissatisfaction that neither Khamenei nor Ahmadinejad have requested to follow her on twitter.
"The speech was disappointing," Merkel said at a news conference in Brussels.
