Daly City, CA - A Daly City couple is beaming, after having a beautiful, healthy baby boy with a rare case of polydactyly in perfect formation.

Baby Kamani Hubbard has six-fully formed and functional fingers and toes on his hands and feet. It's called “polydactyly” -- extra digits -- not an uncommon genetic trait, but Bay Area doctors say they've never seen a case so remarkable.Born at San Francisco's Saint Luke's Hospital three weeks ago, Hubbarb seemed so perfect at birth no one noticed.
The Florida Marlin's pitcher Antonio Alfonseca, blues guitarist Hound Dog Taylor and several remarkable figures in history have had polydactyly.

Watch the video of this very special baby boy.

I am so pleased for them!

When I first saw the pic elsewhere on the site, I didn't even notice that there were six fingers!!!

Well, I think it is great and I would not mind if I had 12 Fingers or even 4 arms and 24 fingers, I think that would be a good step in evolution.

That figures. An individual with polydactyly gets "kudos", whilst an individual with ectrodactyly (missing digits) is generally looked upon as being a freak of society.

His (or is it her?) slap will be a generous one!

That's wild. The kid will have to deal with a lifetime of Inigo Montoya jokes, but, on the other hand, seems genetically predisposed towards water polo.

Not to mention all the trouble buying gloves... It's mittens for this lad!

Hey, wait a second... he HAS no middle finger on either hand. What a handicap in today's flip-prone world. ;)

I saw several of these individuals while visiting areas in northern India.

One location in particular stands out in my memory. It was a town very popular among western tourists and it had lots of chai shops. Two different servers at two different chai shops, both located in areas densly concentrated with westerners each had this condition.

It was the first time I had ever seen it. Although the 6th finger was not fully formed as in the infant described here in your article, it was quite clear that both these young indian men had twelve fingers.

It reminded me of the pianist at the concert in the movie, The Fifth Element, who also was polydactyl.

It almost seemed to me that the chai servers were on display, so that lots of westerners could see their 12 fingers.

When they handed you your chai , regardless of which hand was used, it was obvious the hand had six fingers.

Very strange, indeed !

Maybe he will grow up to be a mighty man!

2 Samuel 21:20
And there was again war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had six fingers on each hand, and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in number, and he also was descended from the giants.

1 Chronicles 20:6
And there was again war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in number, and he also was descended from the giants.

Genesis 6:4
The Nephilim (giants) were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown.

Think of how good a guitarist he could be!
