Baby born mid-air over the Pacific aboard AirAsia Flight AK 6505 was given free life travel pass by the airline. The baby 's mother 31-year-old Liew Siaw Hsia gave birth prematurely while flying from the island of Penang to Kuching. Luckily, there was a doctor on the plane who assisted Hsia as she went into labour 2000 feet above ground. The woman was taken to hospital in Kuala Lumpur once the plane made a diversion to Malaysia's capital.
AirAsia said in a statement that both mother and baby will receive free life-long air travel passes.
A statement from the airline read: "The baby was safely delivered when flight AK 6506 was approaching Kuala Lumpur for landing at 2,000 feet."
Director of operations Moses Devanayagam added: "To celebrate this momentous occasion, we decided to present both mother and child with free flights for life."

Bet the parents and close family are more grateful that the airline staff kept mother and baby alive and safe. What did the staff get tho for their saving grace. A slap on the back no doubt.
