Baby P death sparks national child protection review in UK

The controversial case of baby P, a child who was brutally killed by its mother even after several visits by the British social services department, has scandalized Britain. Now a nationwide review has been launched to find problems with the department.
A nationwide review of child protection services has been launched after two men were found guilty of involvement in the death of a 17-month-old baby who suffered horrific injuries after being used as a "punchbag".
In a case described as one of the most severe child protection failures since the murder of Victoria Climbié, the boy's mother had earlier pleaded guilty to involvement in his death.
The abuse of the child, known in court as Baby P, was said to have taken place over eight months, during which time the boy was on the child protection register of Haringey - the same local authority that was found to have failed seriously in its duty of care to Victoria, who died eight years ago.

Isn't it time that Britiain moved to a fast track and put some action plan together rather than conducting investigations and hearings to find out what exactly led to the collapse of their child protection policies.
If an ordinary citizen has the common sense to establish what happened and realizes that Britain's child protection policies and laws have loop holes, then I am sure some of those politicians wearing expensive suits has that knowledge too.
I was under the impression that such crimes to children happened in third world countries where lawlessness was the code word, but for a country like Britiain that gloats on its democratic values and social systems, this episode has taken britain even lower than the democratic repulic of Congo.
Wake up Brits and see how well are your kids treated....
