Another 75 Were Wounded As a Series of Blasts Shook Baghdad on Tuesday November 2

There were 12 explosions in total and all but one were car bombs; the other was a roadside bomb. At least 50 people are dead after the blasts struck the Shiite neighborhoods of Kadhimiya, Amil, Bayaa, Shulaa, Ur, Zuhour, Sadr City, Amin and Abu Dhsir.

The mixed Sunni-Shiite neighborhoods of Yarmouk, Jihad and Eghraiat were also hit.

No other information has been released about the bombs, but this comes just two days after a hostage standoff at Sayidat al-Nejat, a Catholic Church in Baghdad, that killed 58 people. That incident only ended when Iraq security forces stormed the church.

Seventy-five others were wounded in the attack by gunmen Sunday, officials said, adding that most of the casualties were women and children.
