Bahama Flagged Cruise Ship Stranded With 104 Aboard Ship

According to reports a cruise ship with 74 passengers and 30 crew members aboard the ship named Ocean Nova carrying a Bahamas flag in Antarctica in the vicinity of San Martin.

According to the Argentine Army that is helping with the rescue of passengers and crew members stated the ship became stranded on Tuesday en-route to the Mac Clary glacier. They also stated that there have been no injuries or deaths and there is no risk to the passengers while they assist in the rescue operations, along with the Chilean army. It is planned to take the passengers to the city of Ushuala in Argentina, unless the weather becomes a danger then the passengers can be taken to the Antarctic research base in San Martin.

The Ocean Nova cruise liner was built in Denmark and a 240 foot ship, which was on a two week cruise when it became stranded on the eighth day of the trip to the polar circle. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, however the ship has not been damaged and no fuel has leaked. There have been several vessels in the area that have been alerted to assist.
