NP Rank:
Baller Lin More Protected From Racial Slurs Than The President...
Today Afghans called our President a black dog, and burned him in effigy, to protest the burning of the Koran at Nato’s Bagram air base. Instead of conservative media showing solidarity with their President, they called him that too! Pretending not to know that their unedited repetition of a racial slur, is more of the same.
If someone called Queen Elizabeth a haggard old whore, could anyone imagine "Haggard Old Whore Elizabeth" as a British newspaper headline? I think not! But somehow, Drudge Report, The Daily Mail, and others, found it acceptable to headline the event, using the phrase, "Black Dog Obama," as if the quotes absolved them of responsibility for having common sense.
What was most striking about their racial insensitivity toward the President is that it came days
after heads rolled, and great indignation was expressed, because a basketball player's race was merely alluded to by the phrase, "chink in the armor." In that instance, far from adopting the phrase, most media refused to repeat it! So, if you're an American basketball player, of Chinese descent, more care is applied to protecting you from racial indignities than if you're an American President, of African descent . . .
