Balloon Boy dad Richard Heene declared there was no hoax in the incident involving his six-year-old son Falcon Heene who was believed to have floated away in a home-made balloon. Richard Heene appeared on Larry King Live stating there was no hoax involved in the incident. The show will be aired on Friday. Richard and Mayumi Heene pleaded guilty to trying to influence a public servant on November 13. Heene says he had to plead guilty in order to "save his family" over an alleged threat of deportation for his wife Mayumi Heene. Richard Heene said his wife is a Japanese citizen, and could face deportation if convicted of a more serious crime.

Jim Alderden, the Sheriff of Larimer County where the incident took place, reiterated that he believes the incident was a hoax masterminded by the Heenes. Alderden said, “The evidence against Mr. Heene and Mayumi at this point is really overwhelming. There’s no doubt in my mind that this thing was a hoax.”

The Heenes were sentenced on December 23. Richard Heene received 90 days in jail and Mayumi Heene - 20 days in jail. There is no talk of Myumi Heene's deportation at this point.
