Balloon Boy's Parents, the Heene Family Given $42,000 Bill
Balloon Boy's parents, Richard and Mayumi Heene, have been given a $42,000 bill from federal, state, and local agencies who all took part in what they thought was a rescue of Falcon Heene trapped inside a homemade hot air balloon.
Richard and Mayumi Heene will be sentenced tomorrow for planning and executing the hoax where people believed their six-year-old son got in to a balloon. The authorities have said that they planned the hoax to get a spot on a reality tv show.
The Post reports that the Heenes' attorney, David Lane, says the couple aren't ready to pay up "until they see some receipts."
The judge could further determine what the Heenes owe to agencies like the police, National Guard and the FAA.

I agree, should someone do a hoax and not be found out until later and make $500,000 from doing it - then $42,000 is still chump change.
Where is the reality from those self center individuals (hoaxters) and placing other individuals at risk like this case and point - from doing a hoax again. But then once again tomorrow (court) may have some hefty fines and fees also, lets hope there is!

I hope their sentence includes mandatory psychological counseling.
