Although some foreign agents staying abroad to malign Pakistan have been accusing Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) of plotting kidnapping of a US national from Quetta, the capital city of Balochistan province, on February 2, the Baloch separatists active in Balochistan province have reportedly claimed respnosibility for kidnapping.
John Solecki, head of the UNHCR office in Quetta, was kidnapped on February 2 after his driver being shot dead by kidnappers.

An unknown separatist group claimed responsibility on Saturday for abducting an American working for the UN refugee agency in Pakistan, a local news agency reported.
John Solecki, head of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) office in Quetta, was kidnapped on Feb 2, after gunmen ambushed his car and shot dead his driver.
A spokesman for a group called Balochistan Liberation United Front (BLUF) told the Online news agency they had kidnapped the man to make the United Nations pay attention to the “plight” of the Balochi people.
“We have three demands, and if our demands are not met, then John Solecki will lose his life,” a spokesman, identifying himself as Shahak Baloch, told the agency.
“We want the United Nations to secure the release of 141 women in Pakistani torture cells, provide information about more than 6,000 missing persons, and resolve the issue of Baloch independence under the Geneva Convention.”
The group has not been heard of before, and the name is confusingly similar to the well known Balochistan Liberation Front.

Balochis and Balochistan  have been suppressed , sidelined and kept backward by the punjabis, pashtuns dominated army and government in pakistan. Same is the case with Sindhis. Very little has been done in terms of providing basic necessities like water, irrigation , education while the punjabis continue to enjoy the benefits of balochistans natural resources and coastline. This should be strongly opposed and balochis should get more say and control over their own land , Same in the case with Sindhis . punjabis, pashtuns should go back to their home lands and stop this tibetisation of Balochistan.
