Baluch abductors urged to free UN man

One man harmed unjustly is an affront to 6.75 billion humans that call Mother Earth their home.

I am totally, what the Baluch call, mayareeg. This means feeling publicly embarrassed. To know where I am coming from, I do not easily feel mayareeg as I am proud to be the world's first openly gay Baluch.

My Baluch are a people who live their lives by a honor code and in fact feel ashamed over trivial things, like farting in public -- and go kill themselves. But this action was almost like the Baluch farting in front of the whole wide world.

This episode has clouded the sympathies the Baluch gained all over the world amid reports Zarina Marri, 23, a Baluch schoolteacher, was being used as a sex slave at a Pakistan army torture cell in Karachi. The Pakistan army has yet to deny existence of such torture cells.

According to Quetta journalist, Malik Siraj Akbar, one man who can sway the abductors to free Solecki is legendary Baluch leader Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri. Marri's son and state assembly member, Nawabzada Balach Marri, was killed in November 2007 while engaging the Pakistan army in an armed struggle.

A second son and former government education minister Hyrbyair Marri, 40, had faced a terror trial at the Woolwich Crown Court in London but three out of the five charges against him were dropped Wednesday.

Baluchistan's national struggle for peace, justice and democracy will be taken back one thousand years if John Solecki, who is on medications, suffers any further harm than he has already endured.

I urge the entire Baluch political leadership, in particular, to come out with an appeal to the abductors to free Solecki without any further delay. There can be no justification for terrorism, whatsover, and any act of terror must be roundly condemned, whether it is committed by a Baluch or Allah's own sons.

I am nearing 50 years and this is the first time in my life I have really felt ashamed to call myself Baluch.

It has been three days now. Neither have I slept properly, nor eaten on time here in this land of plenty, United States.

My thoughts are with John Solecki. My thoughts are with the family of Syed Hashim, a UN employee and Solecki's driver, who was gunned down by the young Baluch desperadoes.

I have dreamt about an independent Baluchistan for nearly three decades now.

I dream and I dream every day. About a Baluchistan where our mothers and sisters would not have dirtagain pindol, or tattered rags. Where each individual would have the full opportunity to blossom to their fullest. Where a black or mutt, mixed race, could become the head of government, just like the US.

I dream about Baluchistan where women would be masters of their own destiny, equal to men

I dream about Baluchistan where all humans, whether straight, gay, lesbian, Muslim, Christian Jew, Hindu, atheist would be able to live their lives in freedom without fear. I dream about a Baluchistan where mosques, churches, temples, synagogues would exist in perfect harmony and where the ethnic minorities, including those who have settled down in Baluchistan, would be fully respected.

I dream about Baluchistan where every human would be treated like God. I mean the sanctity of human life would reign supreme.

Those dreams have now been turned into a nightmare as Baluch youths are acting like Taliban. Are these guys really Baluch or are they planted to play the Punjab's games to tarnish the image of the Baluch movement?

According to Balochvioce, a news website run by Nawab Marri's sons the kidnappers have set three demands for the release of Mr Solecki,.

'We want the UN to secure the release of 141 Baloch women held in the torture cells of Pakistan's intelligence agencies, provide information about our 6,000 missing comrades, and resolve the issue of the independence of Balochistan under Geneva Convention,' Mir Shehek Baloch, who claimed to be a BLUF spokesman, told Online newswire via satellite phone from an undisclosed location.

Pakistan is without question violating international laws in Baluchistan. But does this give some frustrated Baluch youths the right to do the same wrong thing, commit a crime against humanity and kidnap a UN official and kill a UN driver?

The Baluch have committed international terrorism, this is what the entire world is saying.

I call upon the youths belonging to the so-called Balochistan United Liberation Front to immediately free Solecki. I also ask the major resistance groups, BRA, BLA, BLF to step up to the plate and get Solecki freed as the image of the Baluch resistance is suffering internationally with each passing minute.
