Banana Republic

The cost of a banana in Zimbabwe - Five Billion Zimbabwe Dollars (One South African Rand and Forty Two Cents; or Eighteen US American Cents)! At that was the exchange rate on 20 July 2008. Inflations is currently pegged at 2.2 million % per annum, but analysts believe it's closer to 12.5 million %. It is ludicrous, sad and tragic.
