Bangladesh to open own Taj Mahal
Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders of World and Millions of people flock to the Taj Mahal in Indian city of Agra every year to have a glimpse of the tomb which a Mughal emperor made for his beloved queen, Mumtaz Mahal. Taking inspiration from the popularity of Taj a Bangladeshi man has created replica of Taj in Bangladesh.
A life-size replica of the Taj Mahal, often described as the world's most beautiful building, is due to open for visitors in Bangladesh.
The replica has been built by a Bangladeshi filmmaker.
Ahsanullah Moni said he wanted his countrymen to experience the beauty of the Indian monument even if they were too poor to travel to see the original.
The 17th Century Taj was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan as a tomb for his beloved queen, Mumtaz Mahal.
The emperor is buried next to his queen in the monument in the northern Indian city of Agra, which is visited by millions every year.
The $58m (£39m) replica has been built in Sonargaon, a small town in the Bangladeshi countryside.

First of all , Taj mahal was not built by shahjahan ... the carbon dating records proved it to be centuries before Shahjahan empire ... there are still unlocked chambers in Taj mahal which depicts it to be a place of religious activities followed by hindus ... so whoever says its a love story and stuff - its a black spot on all the love story .. its not even the real resting shrine of mumtaz (wife of shahjahan) .. its a big cover up in the Indian history advocated by Mughal empire

Taj Mahal is the property of then India that imcluded Bangladesh and Pakistan. Current India must share any earnings from it with other owners. If not, they have the right to try to get their share, even if it means, by making a Replica.

we are now not in "then india", and that says it all. with the political division all kinds of shares or benefits end right at that instant. but yes, making fake things in view of earning money is quite possible, as we are seeing it from them.

will bangladesh ever tolerate faking or remaking it's historical structures? let's ask them? in the name of making a 'replica' if some other country comes up with a distorted object, what will be their reaction to it?

Walt Disney replicated the German Castle of Neuschanstein and all German Fairy tails as well as famous building around the Globe. Where is the Problem, at best it should be seen as flattery. Be honoured.

This photograph was taken mid day in March 2007. It was a very hot day and while resting under the shade of a tree, I looked up and saw this wonderful creation of mankind. In an instant this picture was captured.

I was think maybe this Bangladeshi gentleman create the other 7 wonders too. Some tips are here
1. Create replica of Antartica as people are poor to travel and see there
2. Create Egyptian pyramids
3. Replicas of historical building / relegious places of Mecca / Jerusalem etc. His poor countryment cannot visit those places.
.......finally
Create replica of food items and decent shelters so that his fellow Bangladeshis can experience what do those things mean.
58 million dollars, eh...???

i wonder if this man also made it as a tribute for his (deceased) wife/mistress? any way, like i said in an earlier post by sanjay on the same topic, the original will continue to remain so...unblemished. the whole point is about it being built almost 400 years ago, completed in 1653 i think, and how this architectural wonder was achieved then. it has been replicated now, in this day and age of technical expertise. so?!

Very good point Rumana Husain, I like it. I think it is great in a way and should be taken as a compliment by India. Okay the money could be used for Housing projects though. However every country has there prestige objects that do help the people spiritually at time and do unit them as well.
