Bangladesh vs New Zealand 1st Test Live Score - BAN vs NZ 2013
Bangladesh vs New Zealand Live Score, 1st Test Match of New Zealand tour of Bangladesh 2013 at Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong played on October 9-13, 2013.
Brendon McCullum, the New Zealand captain, elected to bat in the first Test of a two-match series against Bangladesh in Chittagong on Wednesday (October 9).
New Zealand awarded Test caps to Ish Sodhi, the legspinner, and Corey Anderson, the allrounder. Both Sodhi and Anderson were part of the New Zealand A side that toured India and Sri Lanka in the build-up to the tour.
Bangladesh brought in the uncapped Marshall Ayub, a top-order batsman, while Abdur Razzak, the left-arm spinner, made a comeback to the team after a gap of more than two years.
New Zealand’s preparations for the first Test were hampered by bad weather, which forced their lone three-day practice match in Chittagong to be abandoned without a ball being bowled.
However, they could bank on their unbeaten record against Bangladesh, having won eight of nine Tests so far. The last time New Zealand toured Bangladesh, in 2008, they won 1-0 following a hard-fought three-wicket victory in Chittagong after being set a fourth-innings target of 317.
New Zealand are ranked just above Zimbabwe and Bangladesh in eighth place, having suffered ten defeats in their last 16 Tests. Their lone win during this period came against Sri Lanka in Colombo in November 2012.
Apart from two Tests, the tour also includes three One-Day Internationals and one Twenty20 International.
