The number of bank foreclosed houses, VA homes for sale and other types of foreclosures rose slightly in Montana between June and July, but foreclosure rate is still considered steady.

The number of foreclosed properties in Montana, including bank owned houses and VA homes for sale, recorded a slight increase during the period of June-July 2010. Despite the increase, most local analysts classify the foreclosure rate of the state as steady.

Although the state has experienced significant rates of foreclosure activities in most of its local areas, including increased number of foreclosed homes for sale in Billings, MT, it was not one of the 17 states that will receive part of the $2 billion financial aid from the U.S. federal government. The aid is the latest assistance provided by the government to regions with the highest rates of foreclosures.
