Obama Assassination

The KKK aren't too happy about the election of Barack Obama as President of the United States, some of the writing on their website is vague but much of it is threatening:

First of all, Mr. Robb argues in a posting for his blog that also appears on the KKK’s website that Mr. Obama is “the country’s first mulatto president,” and is not really black. That may be a surprising position coming from a hate group that for more than a century has railed against the dangers of miscegenation, but the KKK appears to regard Mr. Obama as something other than black in both a racial and a cultural sense.
In a lengthy rant on the Klan's official website, the white supremacist said: "We are in a race war."

The Ku Klux Klan website "welcomed" Obama's election because "it could mean an awakening of our spirit and blood".

Search terms for 'kkk obama' are really high right now, here's an article looking at why:

For example, among the most popular search terms are “obama antichrist” and “KKK Obama”. Here the KKK one seems to be most disturbing given the fact that KKK members called for a race war if Barack Obama was elected.

Don't let the haters get you down, there's a great article here about how important Barack Obama's election really is:

Anyone who has witnessed the entrenched racism in vast parts of America will know what an astonishing achievement the election of a black president is.

It seems more of a seismic shift than the fall of the Berlin Wall, the end of apartheid, even man landing on the moon. That was a symbol of a giant leap for mankind. This is the leap for real. And nobody saw it coming.

As a white person, the KKK can flush themselves down the toilet. They don't represent anything other than ignorance, fear, and stupidity. If they keep ranting like this, threatening a president, then they can all rot in jail as far as I'm concerned. Members of the KKK are a disgrace to my race.

I THANK YOU FOR THAT STATEMENT. IM FROM SAN BERNARDINO. IM HERE OUTSIDE FORT CAMPBELL, IM A VETERAN OF THE ARMY RANGERS SPECIAL FORCES. IM A MUSLIM. IM A BLACK MAN. WHEN I WAS YOUNG AND DUMB, I WAS A MILITANT RACIST. IF NOT FOR ISLAM I'D STILL BE STUPID.  MANY BLACKS VOTED FOR OBAMA. MY MOTHER WASNT ONE OF THEM. SHE IS A RACIST AGAINST HER OWN DUE TO HER COMPLEXION AND BRAINWASHING. BUT IT WAS THE WHITE VOTES THAT GOT HIM IN. I GUESS SOME FOOLS WOULD RATHER FAIL WITH A WHITE MAN IN CHARGE THAN TO EVEN ENTERTAIN THE IDEA OF SUCCESS WITH A BLACK ONE. RACE IS NO PART IN WHAT THAT MAN HAS TO DO.

Also at NowPublic, Two Sides of a Coin, deals with White Nationalists/Supremacists.

Let's hope the more rational among us continue to outnumber them.

I find it sad that th kkk, mostly populated by poor uneducated whites who the democratic parties policies would benefit far more then republican want to harm Barack Obama, because he is a black democrat who believes in civil rights and economic fairness . But history has showed that poor uneducated whites (predominantly)southern are fixed on one issue, and that is if i am poor an uneducated then minorities better be more poor and educated. This is the true philosophy of the KKK. It really isn't white supremacy at all; it is crabs in a barrel supremacy. Even if you get to the top of the barrel you still never get out of the barrel. Many poor uneducated whites just want to be at the top of the barrel, but are not doing anything to get out and hate minorities who do. The klu klux Klan is an antichrist doctrine of hate and fear mongering. God will come and deal with them harshly for given false doctrine of the bible.

You are so right, most of them we call Hicks are uneducated, and why would they care anyway if a republican wins they would not benefit from it not one bit, if you know what I mean

ok "Man of God" please do not stereotype "poor uneducated white people" i am poor and white, most of my family and friends are poor, uneducated and white...i live in arkansas!!  they are not racist at all.  poor, uneducated white people may not have an education but that does not mean they do not have a conscience or a good heart...many of them are men and women of God.  so dont sit there from your throne and judge poor, uneducated white people and call yourself a man of God

FYI, i totally support Obama and so do my "poor, uneducated white family"

I am hopeful that Obama is well protected... I don't want this man to be injured.  The KKK is a joke.  Anyone who has interviewed these folks can see that education is lacking in these fellows.

Anyone who has witnessed the entrenched racism in vast parts of America will know what an astonishing achievement the election of a black president is.

I take issue with the above.  Racism is fading in America.  My wife an I were in line to vote for an hour and 10 minutes.  Folks in Line were both black and white... everyone was very nice to one another and chatted as we passed the time.  I live in a mixed community here in SC.  I have seen more racism in other parts of the country.   This idea from across the pond that there is entrenched fracism in vast parts of America is quite incorrect.  In the last 40 years one has difficulty seeing any sign of the racism of the past.  The media appears to have their racist glasses on, finding what they seek.  How about a few reporters visit NE Columbia, SC to see that we all live quite wonderfully here.  That would not make the news.

Sorry Politsite, but I have to disagree with you. I live in alabama and it IS entrenched here. The day after the election I had to tell two different groups of people who tried to include me, that i did not want to hear racist jokes about Obama.

I also had to warn one guy who is always threatening to do something to  somebody not to say anything like that about President Obama, or I would have to report him.

Racists will say and do things when they are not in mixed race company that they would not do in it. In other words... racism has gone undergrown.

I don't find what I "seek" when I go out the door - it comes to me unwanted.

I would really, really like to go for a long time without hearing anything racist.

But you know what?  I don't expect that to happen.

Good! Well, NOT good in that sense. But good insofar as it highlights the realities of hate speech.

I've always despised hate speech. I guess my question is whether hate speech should be protected under the banner 'free speech'? I tend to think 'No.'

Generally such things as shouting fire in a crowded building and other unsavoury things are NOT protected speech. I just wonder whether there is any precedent for / against hate speech. Personally, I tend to think that it should be more-or-less banned. In this day and age, there's just no reason for it. Well, okay, there was never really a reason for it, or even much of a justification for it.

I know that 'free speech' is more-or-less sacrosanct. But do we really want to extend any further protection to hate speech? And this doesn't just go for blacks. Jews, hispanics, etc. Other minorities, sexual orientations and such get targeted for things that would probably qualify as hate speech.

I know there's a fine line between say a political joke or blond joke and something that counts a hate speech. But I suppose that where it crosses the line into calls for violence or other illegal / patently offensive actions taken against the person or persons that are the target of the speech, it should be exempted from 'free speech' protection. Maybe it already is, I don't know for sure?

Anyone know of court precedents, etc. on the issue? IE, how much latitude are those promulgating 'hate speech' given? I know that non-discrimination clauses are part of law, insofar as housing codes, businesses offering service(s) to he public, etc. Should speech be to some small degree subjected to similar non-discrimination laws? Or should hate speech be lumped in with 'hate crimes' already on the books in many locales (in response to certain dragging deaths or police brutality toward various races, ethnicities, sexual orientation(s), etc.)? It seems to me like is a form of verbal harrassment and may in many cases border on conspiracy, disturbing the peace or otherwise being accessory to criminal acts (be they vandalism, property damage, harrassment, assualt, muder, etc.).

Just my long-winded 2c worth.

Mr Obama is the President of the United States and if the rest of us will stop tolerating the BS you spout, you and your kind will be relegated to history like Hitler and all men of evil

some of these kkk guys have a point but you guys write them off because they are considered extremists

as for the black person above from philly who told them "im that beautiful black person you wish you were", i highly doubt members of the klan "wish" they were black. do you "wish" you were a skinhead? probably not.

as for the shit about obama playing the race card:

98.5% of the black vote went to obama

50% of the white vote went to mccain

you tell me, whos voting on race?

It seems to me that the very same attitude from these embasils  that are saying now that he has won the "race" oh well he is not exactly black he is mullato , so he is close to white and not technically black , but in the days of slavery a mullato was considered black , to the benefit of the stupid peolpe who saw slavery as a way to live , well they were right about the mullato man or woman being black because guess  what they are black , and Barack Obamas father was African pure Kenyan so get over it you racist pigs and embrace our beautiful , intelligent , dignified , BLACK PRESIDENT!   And our first family ,his beautiful intelligent and graceful black wife and their beautiful respectful intelligent black daughters .

Myriam, it's "imbecile". The election shows unequivocally that blacks in this country are racist and whites are stupid.  Obama is not qualified to be President.  Besides, if any of you had bothered to read his books, you'd knowhe is a quintessential racist.  Of his 3 years in the Senate he was campaigning for President.  I cannot wait until he takes office.  All the Bush-haters who voted for him will be crying the blues.  The most poignant aspect about his victory, however, is that it shows that Americans have a welfare mentality, actually a larcenous one.   The Obamaites believe they are entitled to their neighbor's sweat equity.  I'm sorry but eveyone is not equal- some are smarter; some work harder; some are wiser; some are more talented.  The Robinhood principle is socialism-call itwhat you want but it's still socialism when you take from the richer and give to the poorer.  Frankly,  I do not want nor do I feel entitled to what others have earned. I would be ashamed to take.  It is legalized theft.  Is there no pride.  Are we going to "dumb down"  everything like we have our education system?  There will always be the rich and the poor unless you have forced socialism.  There re reasons why the rich are rich.  Look at the lottery winners in this country who have won millions- within a year or so most of them are broke again.  Get over it -  we were not created equal in the literal sense.  In face we aere no longer considered equals as far as our rights are concerned-the ones who give the most are treated the most unfairly.  I am sick of this welfare mentality.  Get off your butts and go to work and be glad that you have what blessings God has given you.  STOP Coveting what your neighbor has-greed and jealousy are sins.

I agree with that bitter racist Michelle Obama on one thing- I am ashamed of this country.

Oh Geez!

Look...bottom line...everyone in here is throwing hatred all over the place...go back and read your posts!  "Hicks" "uneducated"...first of all I LIVE in the SAME area as Tom Robb...he is a decent person and VERY well educated.  His son is a lawyer in my town.  The whole family are wonderful people.  Their views are their own as are yours and mine...but this coming into this website (or anywhere else) and spreading MORE HATE...THIS is what STARTS & KEEPS a "RACE WAR"...I hope you people are proud of yourselves!

This is exactly why simply claiming to be a Christian is not enough, even the KKK claim to be Christian.  You must live a life pleasing and righteous before the Lord.  The KKK is one of the reasons why I look forward to Judgment Day.  I can imagine how they're gonna look when God doesn't let them into heaven for their fake Christian/truly Satanic ways.
