We have an Obama Inauguration channel, where stories and media will be constantly updated. Tag your stories, photos and videos "Obama Inauguration" to see them featured and get involved.
We also want to see your live video coverage if you're attending the inauguration in Washington DC, or one of the many inauguration events. NowPublic is excited to be working with the video streaming service Qik. Members of Qik are invited to work with NowPublic's staff and contributors to cover this historic event. To participate, sign up to become a NowPublic member. We will be including Qik member inauguration videos in our special coverage as they are live-streamed by you.
Q: How crowded will Washington be, and how will I get around?A: Think Times Square on New Year's Eve. Throw in tight security, then multiply that by 12. At least, that's how it will most likely feel.
Nearly 2 million people are expected to hit the streets of the nation's capital January 20. Police will be shutting bridges across the Potomac River into Washington, along with a huge chunk of the downtown area.
President-elect Barack ObamaBarack Obama has been elected President of the United States, following a strong victory against Republican rival Senator John McCain. During his victory speech in Chicago he paid tribute to Senator McCain, and said "change has come to America". President Elect Barack Obama will be sworn in 20 January 2009 as the 44th President of the United States. Please Tag your stories, photos and video "Obama" to see them featured.
