Inhofe on Fox Business discussing this week's climate change hearings

Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) appeared on Fox News Channel this morning (see video above) to discuss the unprecedented actions taken by Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Chairman Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) this morning. According to Inhofe, ranking member of the committee, Senator Boxer reported out S. 1733, the Kerry-Boxer climate change bill, without one member of the minority party present, a clear violation of longstanding committee rules.

Soon after making his appearance on Fox, Senator Inhofe issued the following statement about Senator Boxer’s actions:

“I am deeply disappointed by Chairman Boxer’s decision to violate the rules and longstanding precedent of the committee,” Senator Inhofe said. “The Republicans offered a clear path forward to a bipartisan markup, but it was summarily rejected by Chairman Boxer.  Instead, she decided to ignore the entreaties of all 6 ranking members from Senate committees with some share of jurisdiction over climate change legislation, as well as leading moderates in the Senate.  Her action signals the death knell for the Kerry-Boxer bill.

“As was written recently, the Kerry-Boxer bill is ‘bad policy’ that ‘resembles the failed climate proposals of the past.’  It is time for a different approach, one that grows, rather than shrinks our economy, creates, rather than destroys jobs, and strengthens, rather than weakens our energy security.  We can do this by encouraging development of all of America’s vast energy resources.”

Let me see if I've got this right.  Sen. Inhofe urges his Republican colleagues on the Committee not to show up as an act of protest. This after insisting 2 days earlier that the entire bill be read into the record. (It was. The Republicans on the Committee don't show up to the meeting, and then complain about not being included in the process.

Act of protest. Boxer broke the rules. The lady sounds a leeetle bit spiteful, at times.

I'm not so sure that the rules were violated. Bent, and tweaked as a result of the Republican's refusal to attend the committee meeting perhaps. Sounds more like a case whining , by Mr. Inhofe.

Senate Environment and Public Works Committee rules state that the committee cannot mark up a bill unless two members of the minority party are present. So Boxer decided simply to not mark up the bill, and pass the base version.

Boxer is not a LEETLE  bit...she is cut from the same cloth Pelosi is ...she is no lady.  She is full of too much testosterone.  She must have a miserable life the way she goes after folks.

Politics often remain a dirty trick game unfortunately. Most of the time to gain personal publicity. Their motive probably is 'as long they speak about me bad or good,' I'm in. That's often the case in Europe and why should it be different elsewhere?
