Barry Artiste Op/Ed

I seem to recall three years ago a small Quebec town called Herouxville, it's citizens and town councilor suggested the exact same guide for newcomers to Canada. This suggestion made by the town's councilor Andre Drouin on behalf of it's citizens resulted in a world wide response by media, both positive and negative connotations.  The Canadian media and Liberal politicians ridiculed the Town and it's citizens, calling them bumpkins and country redneck hicks for asking for such a suggestion that newcomers to Canada should first know what Canada is about, our Laws and Culture in order to understand if Canada is for them.  The ridicule from media became so bad, that Canadians, Americans and citizens all over the world thought about it and said "Hey, wait a second, that's not a bad idea?",  An idea that resulted in this suggestion taking the forefront in the Quebec Provincial election and a Commission on whether it would be necessary to protect Canada's Laws and Culture for new comers. Human Rights Tribunals were up in arms over this, resulting in a backlash from both Canadians and cultural groups who felt it was unnecessary to implement such measures, as common sense dictates that murder or violence against women is already on the law books and known to all people all over the world, and since these occurrences such as honour killings in Canada against women were rare, why state the obvious?  Well, soon after honour killings seem to make the front page with great frequency.

Funny how a scant three years later this suggestion comes full circle and makes it into law. Who says a small band of Canadian citizens from a small farming community in Quebec cannot affect change in Canada, when certainly after suffering the slings and arrows being ridiculed by media and politicians alike, Herouxville and it's citizens will now see a common sense suggestion come to fruition.

Someone, somewhere owes Herouxville an apology.

Below are two media articles fleshing out what is expected from newcomers.

A new guide for aspiring Canadian citizens will warn off "barbaric" cultural practices that physically harm women.

The book, to be officially launched today by Citizenship and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney, contains a special section on "The Equality of Women and Men."

"In Canada, men and women are equal under the law. Canada's openness and generosity do not extend to barbaric cultural practices that tolerate spousal abuse, 'honour killings,' female genital mutilation or other gender-based violence," the document reads.

"Those guilty of these crimes are severely punished under Canada's criminal laws."

Thanks Barry!  This is a great story that one person starting something can make a difference. One little town.  One group.  One state..

The people here who are poo poohing an inner transformation of the Gop into a third party which could help the leftest spend it all and more become elected again are rootin tootin wrong.

Now maybe the young will learn what empty promises and all the glitz that went on with the campaign which from the get go was to get the young and make the poor think they were going to betaken care of learn to listen more carefully...  CARE.......FULLY....

Thanks everyone, goes to show you, anyone can make a difference, even if the liberal politicans, who by the way rely on the ethnic vote and damn the torpedoes, ridicule the rural voters, and media who bandwagon with the lefties, get egg on their face when public opinion is with the rural folk, who vote with common sense instead of Political correctness.

Barry: Great story! This PC crap is really doing a number on certain established  cultures. I've always thought that "rubes" (and I use that term lovingly and jokingly) have much more common sense than the so-called sophisticates.

Gee! I wonder what cultures this is in reference to:

"In Canada, men and women are equal under the law. Canada's openness and generosity do not extend to barbaric cultural practices that tolerate spousal abuse, 'honour killings,' female genital mutilation or other gender-based violence," the document reads."

Normal 0 My friends. The teachings of Islam are evil, satanic and VERY dangerous to Canada. It sounds to me like our government is finally getting it. Would it not be better and certainly easier to insist that we allow no more Islamic s in our nation? Well perhaps this is another step, if you will, to getting the job done. I am a Christian and I have been evangelizing to Muslims and learning about Islam for 20 years now in Toronto. I have been spit at, swore at and have had my life threatened by Muslims many times. I have even been arrested here in Toronto Canada in 1997 for exposing Islam. I was found guilty of hating Muslims, which is most certainly a lie. I do not hate Muslims I hate the teachings of Islam for they lead men away from God to say nothing about the fact that they are completely against our nations laws and principles of democracy. I was found guilty of, in my opinion, for trying to expose these teachings of Islam back in 1997. My community service was to go to a Mosque in Mississauga under the supervision of Mohammed Asharaf who was then head of The Islamic Society of North America. Instead of painting walls or licking stamps I was directed by Mr. Asharaf to a small room and told I would be taught the truth about Islam from three Imam's and would not be able to say anything bad about the teachings of Islam. These types of forced indoctrinations are not uncommon in Islamic societies around the world. Kidnapped Christian children go through these ordeals all the time in many Islamic societies. Muslim scholars say that this is not written in the Quran, yet Muhammad did it and taught, by Muhammad, to others, as is detailed in the Hadiths, which are Islamic books on what Muhammad did. If Muhammad did it then those who follow Muhammad must do it. The idea is that if you are a Muslim you must follow exactly what Muhammad did and the way he did it. Robbing caravans that where going to Mecca, stealing all that was able, killing anyone that would not submit to Islam and making slaves out of the women and children was what Muhammad did as he shouted “Allah Akbar”, this was Jihad against the infidels or Non Muslims. Today the teachings are no different and many Muslims wait until they have strength in numbers until they attack. I believe that is what we are seeing today. We can fight to have Islam removed as a satanic cult from our society, or we can leave it to our children to do it. But can you not see for yourself what Islam will look like in 5 to ten years from now in Canada? When I was arrested in 1997 Islam was not near the strength it is today and that is just a mere 10 years ago when I first warned our nation. The choice is ours and I am very happy to see that towns like Herouxville take steps in that direction , I hope others will continue too apply pressure to these Islamic teachings. With these new laws being applied then the teachings of Islam will not be allowed. For these new laws strike at the very teachings of Allah the Moon god of the Arabian Desert. Muslims will have to start following the laws of Canada or be arrested following the laws of their god. As Canadians I hope they chose to follow Democracy, which Islam knows nothing about.
