Colton Harris Moore, 19, has been on the run from the law for two years but now police in the Bahamas say the have arrested the Barefoot Bandit.
Greenslade said shots were fired during the water chase, but he did not say who fired them. He also said Harris-Moore was carrying a handgun that he tried to throw away. Another senior police official, however, said police fired to disable the motor on the suspect's stolen boat.
Police flew Harris-Moore in shackles to Nassau. True to his nickname, the teen with close-shorn hair was shoeless as he walked off the plane wearing short camouflage cargo pants, a short-sleeved shirt and a bulletproof vest.
Colton Harris Moore is suspected in a serious of high profile thefts and burglaries in the Pacific Northwest of the United States.
He is suspected in the theft of at least five small aircraft, a boat and two cars, and in the burglaries of at least 100 private residences in various locations around thePacific Northwest of the United States and Canada. On July 4, 2010, he may have stolen an airplane in Indiana and fled to the Bahamas.
