Battle of Otumba

This scene depicts Hernán Cortés and his band of Spanish conquistadors battling the Aztec army on the plain of Otumba. The Spanish were horribly outnumbered, but since the Aztecs chose to meet them on an open plain, Cortés' cavalry could move and strike with maximum effectiveness. Cortés was victorious and later returned to conquer the entire Aztec Empire.
