The shooting and killing since the beginning of the year has been non stop. There have been many injured and there have been 24 dead from homicides. And 16 of the 24 dead were from 40 shooting incidents. Here is a hyperlink for a plotted graph of all the homicides death that occurs in the 09, and a list of homicides.

Theses facts tell people something scary, and freighting. It makes us wonder if our safety is at risk.

Since many incidents occur around Surrey, I have asked fellow student in SFU Surrey on how they feel about theses incidents. "I'm scared, yes" said the student. "But I can't really do much about it". Another Student said "Theses event makes me become more aware of my surroundings when going out,
and just hope nothing bad will happen".

Hopefully soon the violence in the Lower Mainland will end, and then people don't have to be afraid to go out and not get shot.

In March 11th 2009 the double homicide incident the police had said "We are doing everything we can to target the individuals responsible for these types of crimes. We take gun violence extremely seriously."

Lets hope with anticipation the police can put the peace back in the Lower Mainland.
