Three reporters from the Times Colonist are putting their journalism skills to the test in their mission to exploit the inconsistencies that exist in British Columbia's open court system and in the accessing of public court documents. 

... The idea was quite simple, numerous courthouses were visited and the same ‘public’ documents asked for at each office. One might think in the day and age of computers, internet and structured government policy, the response at each office would generally be the same. However, in their findings these three reporters discovered a very different outcome than one would anticipate...

The first part of this blistering report found in this mornings Vancouver Sun was close to entertaining as the trio relays scenario after scenario conveying highly varying inconsistencies between courthouses spread across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.

What would we do with out such journalist? or rather where would we be with out investigative journalism? Responsible and investigative journalism is vital to a free and just society.
