Beach man charged with plotting to kill police detective

Virginia Beach police have charged a man with plotting kill a Beach police detective.
Police say Edmund Kutauskas made arrangements with someone in New York to travel to Virginia Beach and kill the detective. The targeted detective had arrested Kutauskas for grand larceny in July.
Police received word of the plot on Sunday and arrested Kutauskas at his home in the 400 block of 24th Street early Monday morning.
This is the second time in the past two months that someone has been charged with conspiring to kill a Beach police officer.
