i, as an american, am extremely proud and excited for our president-elect, our country, and this day. there is such a feeling of hope and goodness, palpable in the air, felt by everyone witnessing this inauguration.

not only are we swearing in an african-american, but a leader who can move this country to a society of post-racism. this is truly the land of opportunity.

the world is seeing the true potential of the united states of america. today embodies our respect for democracy and our deep values in merit and equality.
