Beau Biden will not seek his father's Delaware Senate seat in the 2010 midterm elections. Beau Biden's father, of course, is Vice President Joe Biden. Currently, Ted Kaufman is holding the seat, and Republican Mike Castle is contesting it. With Beau Biden saying that he won't enter the race, there's no clear Demoratic frontrunner.
Beau Biden is Delaware's state Attorney General, and a National Guardsman who served in Iraq.
An associate of Beau Biden this morning circulated a letter from the attorney general and National Guardsman who recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq.
Beau Biden also turned down a chance to take over Joe Biden's Senate seat when Joe Biden was elected Vice President in 2008.

This could give the seat to republicans.
