NP Rank:
Beefeaters Suspended Another Under Investigation
Two of the Tower of London Beefeaters have been suspended and another is under investigation for harassing the lone female Yeoman Warder in the country.
These days Beefeaters chiefly act as tourist attractions and visitor guides.
To qualify to apply for a post, applicants must be non-commissioned officers with at least 22 years' service with the armed forces, who hold the Long Service and Good Conduct medal.
Miss Cameron, from Argyll in Scotland, joined the Army at 20 and served in Northern Ireland and Cyprus, rising to the rank of Warrant Officer Class 2.
Apparently Miss Cameron has been the subject of unpleasant notes left in her locker, her expensive Yeoman Warder's uniform has been defaced and her entry on Wikepedia was also defaced. Some of the public have been free with their opinions about the qualification of a female to serve as a Yeoman Warder as well.
The Yeoman Warders are a colourful addition to the London scene, especially when they wear their scarlet uniforms.
When Miss Cameron joined the Yeoman Warders, a NP contributor did an article on her.
