Beit Lahia, Sderot, Ashkelon:’ Oh What a Curious War’

 Two Stories and an Opinion.

 

 The twins of Beit Lahia in Ashkelon.  Twins from from Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza Strip, where born a week ago in the newborn  intensive care nursery at the Barzelai hospital in Ashkelon. To remember you, Ashkelon is the Israeli town targeted by the Grad missiles launched by the Hamas. And see how curious is the war (my words), the missiles where launched from Beit Lahia where the parents of the twins are living, forcing the twins their mother and the medical staff to evacuate the  intensive care unit to an underground bomb shelter. Dr Samuel Tsangen, director of the intensive care nursery, says “how bizarre, we take care of their children and they are firing on us.”

 Sderot, Beit Lahia, the West Bank and Iossi heimov with Palestine friends.

On the 2.25.2008 the child Iossi Heimov (10) was severely wounded in Sderot by a Qassam missile launched from the area of Beit Lahia . He was token to the Barzelai hospital in Ashkelon. Heimov is a football player learning at the soccer school in The Peres Center For Peace in Sderot. The center initiate meetings between young Arab soccer players from the West Bank with the soccer team of Heimov in Sderot. And see how curious is the war (my words), this week, his friends from the West Bank came to visit him at the Barzelai hospital in Ashkelon offering him a poster of the great David Beckham. All the children where very exited to be together in such a special situation and wishes each other to meet soon  again on the football field.
