All it takes for me to realize that I missed a beat on a time sensitive story is to see a related bit from the previous year getting renewed attention.

It just happened today with a belated realization that the Epiphany passed me by and that I failed to make or buy a Galette des Rois.

To make up for my memory lapse I went hunting for related news of the 2009 vintage.

Unbeknown to me, the Spanish world celebrates with Rosca de Reyes which Steff of Baking Delights translates as King's Bread in This Recipe (January 2007).

Aran of Canelle and Vanille shares that in their "family whoever got the slice of rosca with the figurine had to do the dishes for an entire day." ...
