Bertha Wanders - Now Extratropical! Iceland on Monday!
See the really cool Flash Storm Tracker on the Iceland Weather Underground!
Bertha still a Hurricane, picking up speed and moving at 25 mph, will hit Iceland Monday. Will it downgrade as predicted. Hmmmm? Bertha is the longest lasting tropical storm on record.
Bertha has upgraded to Hurricane again, with winds around 75 mph, and looks like it's headed straight for Iceland!
Though the advisory suggests it might degrade in the next few days. Maybe.
-------
Bertha has been downgraded to Tropical Storm and is still 190 miles south of Bermuda.
"..BERTHA HESITATES AGAIN...REFUSES TO MOVE...
A TROPICAL STORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR BERMUDA."
Public Advisory-Natl Hurricane Center
On the horizon a new weather disturbance out in the Atlantic.
Hurricane Bertha remains Category 1, but forward movement has slowed to 2 mph and is meandering.
Bermuda has high surf and large swells from the storm, Bertha expected to pass south and east of island by perhaps Monday, but that can still change.
Bertha continues North slower and with sustained winds of 75 to 85 mph, coming close to Bermuda. Tropical Storm Watch declared for Bermuda. Still uncertain how much will affect Bermuda.
Bertha will wobble. Predictions that Bertha will strengthen then weaken, then wobble. Unsure what wind shear and warm currents will affect it. About 700 miles south of Bermuda, and still uncertain if Bermuda will suffer. National Hurricane Center
