ISLAMABAD: The British High Commission has closed its visa facility with Gerry's FedEx in Islamabad because of security threats earlier in the day.

British High Commission spokeswoman Jennifer Wilkes told Geo Television that the threats were made by unknown people and the offices in sector G-9 have been closed. Wilkes also said the office would be reopened after adequate security is provided.

The Interior Ministry, however, said such threats are normal but additional security would be provided.

I didn't say it wasn't real news. You can call something a news story; it doesn't have to be a news article to be real.

hussain, it seems like your story comes from here.

Can you explain that?

It is very simple, there are many stories that reach 'there' through me. I mean first I get these stories and then they are posted 'there'.

As far as removal of flag is concerned, it does not matter to me. I try to inform NP readers about something of interest and have to waste my precious time and effort. It means in future, I do not need to do so.

Its really not a good news because these types of threats may directly effect on applicants waiting their visas. We are already sustaining visa processing delays. I myself heard this news on GEO , when Jennifer was talking to a newscaster. Anyway if it happened then i think Govt should provide them more security, so they can perform their functions timely.

I personally think that the cases which are already submitted should be dealt with utmost priority as the UK embassy has already taken payments from individuals. It would be a great irresponsibility on part of the UK if the current cases are postponed indefinitely. People who are waiting for their visas should be contacted by the embassy giving them a proper schedule and time period for their application process. Embassy shouldnt put their demands on part of the future of so many people.

Guys dont lose hope. Hopefully everything would turn out fine.

Hi everyone! Can anyone tell me when the Islamabad embassy will open?

I have tried every thing, like contacting the embassy and all they say that the Islamabad embassy is open but they don't tell you if the visa section is open or not.

I sended all the documents to the embassy so they can give a visa to my wife. She keeps going to check if the Islamabad embassy is open or not and all she gets is a answer No still close.

The documents will expier this Octobmer. Can anyone tell me a quick way to call my wife here to England and how quick she can get her visa to ENGLAND.
