Bicyclist Hit By Van In Fullerton

In California, bicyclists have the same rights and duties as people operating motor vehicles.  Pay attention to bikers people, their injuries are typically catastrophic.

According to reports by bicycle accident lawyers, a bicyclist was involved in a collision with a van in the vicinity of Kimberly Avenue at State College in Fullerton before 6 a.m.

Sgt. Michael MacDonald of the Fullerton Police Department stated that the bicyclist was a 68 year old man and they received the call at approximately 6 a.m. the rider of the bicycle was struck by a van and thrown from his bike on Kimberly Avenue. He was transported to the UCI Medical Center in critical condition and has since stabilized with major internal injuries and head injuries.

The authorities closed down the roads from traffic between Kimberly and Orangethorpe Avenue in State College for approximately four hours while they investigated the scene of the accident.

The identity of the 68 year old bicyclist has not been released and there has been no information about the van or the driver of the van, as well as what might have caused the bicycle accident.

I heard that early morning rush hour is the worst time for cyclists being involved in collisions, perhaps to due speeding motorists and it being dark.

Yes I would say so too, and how everyone is in such a rush to get to work that no one is paying enough attention.
