As a Muslim and a Pakistani, I think it is my duty to express my views and opinion on something that I consider as harmful for the country, otherwise I become a part of those happenings, and I do not want to have that blame on myself. If I cannot stop a bad action or injustice, then at least I should denounce it in public. If you do not publish this letter, at least I will get this off my chest and will be able to face Allah on the day of Judgment, that I was not a party in the destruction of Pakistan, the only Islamic country created in the name of Islam.
Pakistan is in now facing the worst situation, be it political or financial, but it does not seems that way, as 41 new Ministers have been added to the already biggest federal cabinet of 14 ministers making the total cabinet of ministers to 55. No country in the world has such a large fleet of federal ministers, not even the richest and biggest countries like USA has such large federal cabinet. The monthly cost of these 55 ministers would be more than 100 million rupees. The President of Pakistan who said that he wants to reduce the cost of running the Government as soon as he was elected, but does just the opposite every day. We can already say that we have the worst, most expensive and Hippocratic president, who is going to make this country go bankrupt faster than the Friends of Pakistan group, the IMF or the World Bank can even imagine. All the funds and grants that the country can expect in future will not be able to feed such a large cabinet of federal ministers, because they also have dozens of supporting staff and all will need bullet-proof SUV’s with drivers. And what will these people do, just read newspapers, chat and drink tea, because there are not enough federal departments to which these Ministers can be assigned to. This means that either the existing Departments would be further divided into four or more small departments, who could be easily run by appointing a secretary or new departments would be created just to place these new ministers. Some new federal minister may end up having no department but their own staff to look after. What a wonderful way to increase the GDP and decrease the loan liabilities of our country?
All this is being done to please the PPP members and they do not need to have any qualifications or experience, but only need “sources” to get their name on the President or the Prime Minister’s desk. All my hope for a better and prosperous Pakistan has been shattered, and I think I can never think of spending my retirement in Pakistan, the country that I used to love and admire the most, and that was created after the sacrifices of millions. I wish Pervez Musharraf was still the President of Pakistan, at least he would not have inducted 41 new federal ministers. May Allah have mercy on Pakistan.

pakalert, I like this story.I'm sorry to say but the name "Islamic Republic" does not apply for Pakistan since the times of Ayub Khan, although he introduced the definition! Pakistan is a rich country with a sad political history. Even Musharraf was not the good guy, Pakistan seriously lacks honest, true Muslim politicians I guess. The saying: "power corrupts, absolute power corrups absolutely" must be inspired on Pakistan's politics, though the one who introduced this saying could have never heard of Pakistan as he lived in the 19th century!

I think when palistan becomes a failed state it will be a wake up for the rest of the world that religion shouldn't run politics.
