Billboards help FBI fight crime in Hampton Roads by CJaye

NEWPORT NEWS – A billboard along Interstate 64 is helping authorities take a bite out of crime.  You see the usual ads on the sign between the Jefferson Avenue and Fort Eustis exits, but mug shots of suspected criminals are also there.

The FBI began the billboard campaign on October 24, posting two photos. One of the suspects, Richard Franklin Wiggins, surrendered on drugs charges soon after.

"They were driving by, they see him and he feels the pressure from his family members telling, so we received a note on November 12t. He actually turned himself into US Marshals,” explained Vanessa Torres.

Torres says new photos will be added and she hopes the public will take a look and perhaps give a tip that lead to an arrest.
