A Gaza conference in Egypt is asking nations from around the world for $2.8 billion US in reconstruction funding, with almost $2 billion already earmarked by Saudi Arabia and the United States. The plan was put together by the Palestinian Authority's Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, who is hoping for a peaceful co-existence between Israel and Palestine.
Donors at the conference in the resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh will be asked to fund a $2.8 billion US reconstruction and recovery plan put together by the Palestinian Authority's Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, an internationally respected economist. Rival Hamas was not invited.Saudi Arabia has already pledged a billion dollars in aid, and the United States will give $900 million.

How will Israel's Government and Hamas ever come together to make this happen? The plan in its self is great. However We will need some major gestures of good will and concessions from both Hamas as well as Israel.

I would make mandatory condition to any Aid to Gazan Arabs their COMPULSORY participation in the reconstruction of Gaza. Make all the Arabs there work productively 8 hours a day.
It will be like in Soviet Union in the days past: they will work and get life sustenance. I see no reason to poor any money to Gaza otherwise.
One may say it will not be free existence for Gazas but it is not free existence right now anyway. At least living conditions there will improve.
Making them all busy will stop rockets falling on Israel which is the most necessary outcome of this Aid.

Why the heck should America give Gaza any money?
I am so sick of giving billions of dollars to foreign countries especially since we need OUR money here..

America is going through a recession, great idea, lets keep pouring billions into these other countries! The fighting will continue over there and all the new crap they rebuild will be destroyed any ways! Great ideas from this new president!
